Show, Don't Tell

Do you trust God?

Don't flippantly answer yes. Think about it. Do you trust Him?

I TRY to. The question isn't one you can answer with words alone. It shows in how you live your life each day. We looked at peace and joy. As I trust God these should be evident in all that I do and say. If they are not it shows where MY faith is.

I can be wishy-washy and tossed about by the winds and waves, but the thing I cannot forget is that God hasn't gone anywhere. Hebrews 13:5 says that God "will never leave you nor forsake you." That is why I say this is a question of my trust, my faith in Him.

In Matthew 14 Jesus' disciples were in a boat crossing the sea when a storm came up. This is when they saw a "ghost" walking on the water toward them and they were terrified. But it was Jesus and Peter in faith said, "If it is you, command me to come to you on the water." Jesus told him to come and Peter got ut of the boat and began to walk on the water.

"But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me." Matthew 14:30

Then Jesus said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Jesus was RIGHT THERE and the disciples and Peter doubted. You do realize that he is right here with us too. And while we may be in a tumultuous storm, we must "fix our eyes" on Him. If He is where I place my faith that is where my eyes must remain. That is where my thoughts must focus. On Him. "The author and perfecter of our faith". (Hebrews 12:2)

So, do you trust Him? Show Him. Don't tell Him.

I will too.
