"Restore us, O God;

make your face shine upon us,

that we may be saved."

--Psalm 80:3

Since the beginning God created us to be His children. When He created Adam and Eve, they were created "in His image." They were His ultimate creation, the ones that He would come to the garden to walk and talk with.

Then, it happened. God's enemy, the deceiver, came into the garden and took what had been "good" and corrupted it by turning God's most precious creation against Him. Satan made them question God's love and care for them, and they turned away. From that point there was a rift between mankind and God. As much as mankind wanted to cross it, they couldn't. As much as they tried to do the "right thing", it wouldn't last.

That is where God stepped in. He was that only one who could "restore us" so that once again His face would "shine upon us." He sent His one and only son that whoever believed in him would be saved. He loved us that much and wanted us to be His children to that degree that He would send His son to DIE.

"Look at how great a love the Father has given us that we should be called God's children. And we are!" (1 John 3:1)

What a great love God has always had for us that He would do whatever it took to make us His children again! This is the gift that He offers, now you must accept it as your own. John 1:12 says, "Yet to all who received him [Jesus], to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." Receive him today. Believe in him and become God's child.
