Keeping His Word

"I'll take care of it. You have my word." People say it, but when it comes from certain ones we don't believe it. Not so with God.

"For the word of the Lord is upright,"says the Psalmist in Psalm 33:4. God's word is always true, ("All his work is done in faithfulness") and you can count on Him to come through. The Psalmist spends the next verses giving examples why you can trust God's word.

The waters of the earth came from the word of the Lord according to verse 6, and He is the one who continues to keep it all running smoothly. By His word the lands of the earth "stood firm." "Stand in awe of him" for He spoke and made it be.

The same God who created this wonderful place by His word is the One whom you can trust to keep you day by day. If "ALL his work is done in faithfulness", that includes the work He is doing in my life and every promise He gives us in His word.

"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you." (Isaiah 26:3) He does.

"Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved." (Acts 16:31) You will be.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins" (1 John 1:9) He will.

"I will come again and take you to myself" (John 14:3) He will.

Keep on going. And as you read His word and find those promises, know that they are assured because the One who said them is faithful and true. He is the God who keeps His word.
